Symposium

29th GC Management Symposium 2024

We look back with pleasure on our 29th GC Management Symposium on the topic of "Print Rebels" and would like to thank you all for your participation and commitment.

Date:       24 to 26 April 2024
Location:  Hotel Schloss Hohenkammer near Munich

With determination, passion and rebellious energy, we set new standards that inspired innovative approaches and new horizons.

In addition, Katharina Aguilar and Katrin Hansmeier, in their roles as hecklers and keynote speakers, accompanied the audience through the presentations with plenty of humour and the occasional short song, making them laugh again and again.

Information and inspiration – that's what the GC Leadership Symposium stands for.

Interjectors & keynote speakers

How does the new come into the world?

Katharina Aguilar

Katharina Aguilar is an entrepreneur, speaker and trained presenter. After almost 10 years in the innovation and start-up sector of the automotive industry, she followed her inner calling to start her own business. With a grand vision and a keen sense for the spirit of the times and future trends, she delves into the future of our living spaces. With her company 7places, she brings practical knowledge from smart cities, new work, digitalisation and sustainable living spaces to companies and public institutions. She is a future shaper who not only talks, but also takes action.

Katrin Hansmeier

She is an author, speaker, qualified actress and humour coach at the German Institute for Humour®. Katrin Hansmeier has appeared in numerous theatre, film and TV productions, including as a detective in the Berlin Tatort series. With useful tricks from the industry, she prepares people for the daily "business Tatort". With ease and wit, she initiates us into the secrets of comedy and serenity. She is the author of the book "Humour: The Manifesto for Delayed Quick-Wittedness". Katrin Hansmeier is like a spark that ignites others. She draws even the most sceptical out of their shell. Life is easier when you learn from Katrin.

Rebels / Lectures

The jam sandwich strategy.

Beat Schelling
SCHELLING AG

Print is great, but it's not everything. We see ourselves as a packaging manufacturer. From this perspective, we are not only a "print rebel" but also a "packaging rebel". The jam sandwich strategy is our answer to this conflict. The primary purpose of packaging is to protect goods, transport them and be environmentally friendly. Bringing goods to market without packaging is a recipe for failure. Without packaging, especially in the food sector, food waste explodes. The EU primarily favours reusable systems. How can we break out of this tight corset and – together with our customers – be successful?

This presentation will be available soon!

Employee search: Only through my awareness!

Katja Mundschenk
Mundschenk Druck- und Vertriebsgesellschaft GmbH & Co. KG

We are a printing and publishing house in the Lüneburg Heath that is no longer quite so large. Due to our location, creativity and new approaches are required when recruiting skilled workers. The active part of filling vacancies has been transferred to us. We are now the applicant to the candidate. This is a completely new field of learning for us – an opportunity to move from unconscious incompetence to conscious competence. It requires awareness: of the unique selling points of the position, of the customs of the target group, of the touchpoints... Not to mention awareness of our own company. I would like to talk about this learning journey and how to achieve the necessary awareness.

Coating paper. Protecting the environment.

Dr. Mathias Stanzel
TU Darmstadt

CeraSleeve® is a patented material innovation for the production of wet-strength and water-repellent paper. Unlike conventional methods, it does not use synthetic resins or plastics, which makes it fully recyclable for the first time. With this spin-off from TU Darmstadt, wet-strength and water-repellent papers are now recyclable and thus fit for the future.
Innovation – from research to practice. The presentation describes the path of CeraSleeve®- technology from its discovery in the laboratory to its potential industrial application, with a view to the challenges involved.

Programmatic printing. Targeted marketing campaigns.

Patrick Donner
Traffic Print • Online • Solutions GmbH

In times of increasing digitalisation, mailings are taking on a new meaning: they have become indispensable in digital sales models – standardised mass mailings are now a thing of the past. That's why Traffic offers impressive mailings with a haptic effect and cross-media bridges that transport recipients directly and easily into the digital world. Everything is completely customised, of course, in all elements such as PURL, WhatsApp, personal videos, etc.

Printed electronics. Clothing controls muscles.

Maria Neugschwender
Noxon GmbH

I studied printing and media technology at Munich University of Applied Sciences and then founded a company in the field of printed electronics. Today, our start-up Noxon prints sensors in clothing that treat and monitor muscles. Leading neuroscientists and clinics are among our customers.
My presentation deals with the future role of the printing industry in the treatment of muscle disorders. I will highlight both the opportunities and challenges of printed bionic sensor technology and show what we can already implement today.

This presentation will be available soon!

Business network. Stronger together.

Philipp Wyss
Schellenberg Gruppe AG

By joining forces, the Schellenberg Group, a renowned family business in Switzerland, is striving to utilise the synergies from all its locations as efficiently as possible. Coordinating all operations requires a uniform structure and a digital mindset and approach. The new possibilities of our time allow us to locate changes in every order, in every department, at every location and at any time in a matter of seconds . This transparency makes us flexible and dynamic, giving us a decisive advantage over our competitors.

Think. Print. Paper, potential, personality.

Stefan Pscherer
Druckerei Pscherer GmbH

I wanted innovation. My father wanted tradition. I wanted digital printing. My father wanted classic printing. I wanted modern leadership. My father was rather old-fashioned. ...
Skills shortages and staff retention are issues that are becoming increasingly important now and will continue to do so in the coming years. #NewWork – a term that is the subject of heated debate – is, in my view, more than just a trend. For me personally, NewWork is not just a concept, but a necessity. Every company can decide for itself what this idea looks like in practice – but it should be attractive.

Rebellion. Innovation.

Wolfgang Jeschke
GC Graphic Consult GmbH

How does one become a print rebel? And why bother? What distinguishes successful rebels from unsuccessful ones, and are (print) rebels promising business leaders?
How do rebels fit into a team, and why do companies absolutely need rebels? What do rebellion and innovation have to do with each other?
You will receive answers to these questions and practical tips on how to become rebellious, be successful and "survive".
